About me
I’m a qualified counsellor with experience supporting people through a wide range of life challenges. My personal philosophy of counselling has grown from my background in social work. I have always held a deep respect for the resilience and dignity of individuals who are faced with adversity. For the last twenty years I have endeavoured to work collaboratively with people in a way that honours their story, and capacity for growth.
My social work background has also continued to shape how I understand each client within their wider social, cultural and systemic contexts. I have found that this perspective helps me appreciate the external factors that impact on emotional well-being. As a counsellor I work from an integrated perspective, utilising my training in person-centred, psychodynamic, neurodivergence-affirming support, and cognitive-behavioural approaches.
My approach is flexible and guided by you. I believe counselling works best when you feel heard, respected, and in control of your own journey. Together, we focus on what matters most to you — whether that’s exploring feelings, understanding patterns, improving relationships, or finding practical strategies to move forward. I believe that genuine empathy, unconditional positive regard and authenticity create the foundation for meaningful therapeutic relationships. I aim to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable exploring what has brought you to counselling.
Clients often tell me they value having a safe space to talk openly, gain clarity, and build confidence in themselves and their choices. I’m passionate about helping people feel supported and empowered to navigate life’s challenges, and I’m committed to creating a space where everyone can explore at their own pace, with understanding
